 | The VSI Professional Staff have analyzed numerous trip, slip and fall cases and hold specialized certifications in using scientific devices for measuring slippery surfaces that are approved by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). With specialized training in this area, our biomechanists are able to effectively analyze trip, slip and fall accidents by incorporating gait dynamics, injury biomechanics and human movement analysis with the surrounding environment. VSI Impact Biomechanics experts will often use human tissue tolerance values, medical evidence, and testing and analysis of the surface, to determine whether the mechanism for injury is consistent .with the accident scenario. Surface fall investigations fall into the following areas:
Slip and Fall
Trip and Fall
Step and Fall
Stump and Fall
A VSI Premise analysis will often include review of medical and radiological imaging records, witness statements/police reports, inspection of the actual accident site, analysis of scientific literature, and testing of the surface material, and the testing and analysis of the friction of the walking surface. VSI Premise experts often benefit from a VSI Human Factors analysis in evaluating the capabilities and limitations of human capability, perception and reaction as it relates to how premise accident occurs bringing a more thorough understanding the of accident.
