Senior Engineer
Jason is a registered Professional Engineer and specializes in vehicular accident reconstruction and collision dynamics. Mr. Skiera's vast experience in reconstructing and analyzing collisions of various types, configurations and complexities has involved passenger cars, trucks, SUV's and tractor-trailers. Additionally, Mr. Skiera has performed countless total station accident site surveys, 3-dimensional FaroArm vehicle digitizations, Photomodeler and reverse projection photogrammetric analyses, case and research specific vehicle tests and demonstrations, and has analyzed a number of computer crash simulations. Jason brings over six years of accident reconstruction and forensic engineering experience to VSI.
Mr. Skiera received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Michigan in 2004. He obtained his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 2008, focusing in vehicle dynamics, crashworthiness and biomechanics. Jason is currently a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
Personal
Mr. Skiera was born in Michigan and had resided there until beginning his employment with VSI in 2009. Growing up in Michigan, he spent his time boating and fishing on Lake Michigan, hunting, snowmobiling, camping, biking and playing sports. In his free time, Jason enjoys an active Colorado lifestyle of running, biking, weightlifting, skiing, and traveling.
